Q. How long will it take to switch my long distance
service to Covista Long Distance?
A. It takes 5-7 business days from the time your order is verified.
Q. What is the monthly long distance service charge?
A. No monthly billing fee if you sign up for AUTOPAY billing option or if
your bill is over $20.00 each month. (NOTE: $1.99 billing fee is charged when your bill is under $20.00
for all non-Autopay customers.)
Q. What are the billing options for Covista long distance?
A. Billing Options: Direct Bill - Receive a paper invoice each month and pay by
check or money order.
Direct Bill PLUS - Receive a paper invoice each month and pay by credit card.
Autopay - No paper invoice, pay by credit card and view or download your monthly invoice
Q. What are the billing increments for Covista long distance?
A. Domestic long distance calls are billed in 6 second increments with a 6 second minimum,
international long distance calls are billed in 6 second increments with a 30 second minimum.
Q. Does Covista long distance accept Credit Card payments?
A. Yes. Covista Communications accepts American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa,
ONLY through the Direct Bill Plus and Autopay options.
Q. Why is a Social Security number required for a residential order?
A. Covista Communications requires the Social Security number to obtain a credit profile report.
Q. Can I find out what information was obtained from the credit profile report?
A. The information obtained is confidential and by law, can not be provided.
You can obtain a free copy of your credit profile report from the credit agency.
Q. Why is a Bank Name and Account Number required for a business order?
A. Covista long distance requires the Bank Name and Account Number to verify bank account
information and history.
Q. Does Covista long distance credit long distance switching fees?
A. Yes, Covista Communications will credit long distance switching fees for Business Customers only.
Fax a copy of your local bill containing the charges to Customer Service at 1-888-970-7700 for
a credit of up to $10 per line. The credit will appear on you next Covista Communications bill.
Q. What are the PICC and USF fees?
A. The FCC imposed PICC fee is $4.31 per Business line. Residential lines will not be
charged a PICC fee. The FCC imposed USF (Universal Service Fund) of 9.75% will be charged
on all interstate and international long distance calls.
Q. What is the charge for local long distance?
A. There is no separate rate for local long distance service (intraLATA). These calls are
billed at your in-state rate.
